The purpose of Love Letters to Fort Worth, as a magazine feature and community activation event, was to give local residents a platform to express love for the city in which they live.
The first part included reaching out to local influencers, celebrities, and other notables to write love letters addressed to the city; this became the main part of the magazine feature. The second part included a community activation event — heavily promoted via social media — around a collage, where passersby in Sundance Square could share specific things they love about their city; this resulted in a large piece of art that became the feature’s opening spread.
The feature was published in the February issue of Fort Worth Magazine, and included art direction by Ayla Whittington and contributions from several local Fort Worthians, including Rosie Moncrief, Councilman Carlos E. Flores, Nancy Lamb, and many others.
